01The pool

A courtyard built around water

The pool runs most of the length of the courtyard, with a shallow sun shelf at one end for sitting in and an integrated spa set into a stone wall at the other. Loungers and parasols along the deck, lawn either side.

It faces inward, enclosed by the residences and their terraces, which keeps it quiet and out of the wind.

02The gardens

Planted, not landscaped-by-numbers

Stone pathways curve through lawns planted with palms, ferns and bromeliads. Mature coconut palms were kept where they stood and the buildings were set around them.

It is the part of the property most guests end up walking through several times a day, so it was worth doing properly.

03The pavilion

A white two-level pavilion sits at the head of the courtyard: a covered lounge below, and above it an open deck under three tensioned sail canopies, reached by a spiral stair.

It catches the breeze and the late light, and it is the best place on the property to be at six in the evening.

A note on the building work

A second phase of residences is under construction on the north side of the property. Work is scheduled Monday to Saturday, 8am to 5pm. Guest rooms, the pool and the gardens are complete and fully open.

We would rather you heard it from us than found it on arrival. If a quiet stay matters to you, get in touch and we will put you in the wing furthest from the work.
